Knot your typical workshop! 💁🏽‍♀️

We’re excited to welcome Joel Benjamin (@hairbyjoel) to host a hair braiding workshop at Stratford One. With over 20 years in the hair industry, Joel is a leading Educator and Session Hairstylist, best known for his creative mastery of over 200 braiding techniques. 👱🏽‍♀️

Joel has collaborated with top brands like Vogue, Topshop, Nike, and Liberty London, and authored the popular styling book Twists, Braids and Ponytails.

Joel’s engaging workshops and live demos have inspired stylists across the UK, from London Fashion Week to Glastonbury. His teaching blends hands-on learning with a passion for empowering creativity through braidwork.

Join us for an inspiring session led by one of the most inspirational voices in hair today🤩

The 2 hour workshop is structured around teaching new approaches to braiding. It will strengthen your knowledge of simple fun techniques, while enhancing your understanding of how subtle changes can make a huge difference when applied.

Workshop includes:

● How to create The Bubble and Dutch Pull-Through plait technique (plaiting practise)

● How to create The Bubble and Dutch Pull-Through braid technique (braiding practise)

● Dolls head to practise on (up to 20 people)

● Hair-Ties and brushes/combs

● Worksheets on each braiding technique

We can use these techniques to add to your creative arsenal of styles, while enhancing your understanding and application of how fun braided looks are achieved.

Level: Basic. You will need a willingness to learn, no experience needed.
