Student Accommodation Awards 2025
We won the Community Impact Award at the Student Accommodation Awards 2025.
Our recognition follows the success of The Big Queer Bus Tour and our LGBTQ+ History Month campaigns across halls earlier this year - celebrating and supporting our communities in a big way. ๐๐ช
The panel said: "The University of the Arts London sets a gold standard for inclusive student engagement, with sector-first initiatives like the Big Queer Bus Tour driving measurable impact and long-term cultural change. Its exceptional focus on diversity and community-building makes it a powerful example of transformative practice in higher education."

CUBO Awards 2025
Our Halls Life team were awarded the Community Team of the Year at the CUBO Residence Life Awards 2025. ๐ฅณ
The team earned this well deserved recognition for their incredible impact during LGBTQ+ History Month, delivering standout campaigns including the Big Queer Bus Tour, The Art of Drag, and the Queer Peers podcast. ๐ณ๏ธโ๐
CUBO Awards 2024
We won two Awards at the CUBO (College and University Business Officers) Awards 2024!
The Best Residence Life Experience award celebrated our introduction of diverse EDI student leads supporting marginalised groups, wellbeing programmes, and partnerships that make our halls inclusive and supportive for everyone. ๐ซถ
We won the first ever Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Spotlight for our LGBTQ+ support, commitment to neurodiversity awareness, the Queer Peers podcast, Pride involvement, a Trans ambassador programme, and advocacy for inclusive parental leave. ๐ณ๏ธโ๐๐ณ๏ธโโง๏ธ
Heist Awards 2024
Our Halls Life team won Best Student or Alumni Engagement Initiative at the Heist Awards for their LGBTQ+ History Month campaign, which delivered a fantastic programme of events - including the standout Queer Illuminations celebration.
The Heist Awards highlight innovation and celebrate the "very best work being done in the sector". Commenting on our win, they said our campaign was recognised as a โpowerful entry that went beyond โmarketingโโ. ๐

Queer Student Awards 2025
We were runners up for two awards at the Queer Student Awards (QSA): University of the Year for our gender-affirming care support scheme and Ally of the Year for our support of queer initiatives and groups.

We won two awards at the Queer Student Awards (QSA): University of the Year and Role Model of the Year in Education for our Student Experience Manager, Carley Owen. ๐๐
The QSA recognises young LGBTQ+ people and the communities championing them, and this recognition highlights UALโs commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive environment where everyone can thrive.
Property Week Student Accommodation Awards 2023
At the 2023 Student Accommodation Awards, our hall of residence, Archwood House, was named Best University Halls of Residence. Having opened its doors in 2022, Archwood House quickly established itself as a benchmark for student living - celebrated for its modern facilities, welcoming community, and vibrant atmosphere.

Cubo Awards 2023
It didnโt stop there - Archwood House also earned further recognition at the CUBO (College and University Business Officers) Awards 2023, where it won the Innovation in Student Housing award. This award highlights our forward thinking approach to student living that creates an engaging and supportive enviornment for students.
