Our house espresso, Rocket, is a Belgian chocolate, black cherry and treacle coffee from Brazil and Honduras, that is always roasted on Bertha – a 120kg Probat roaster rescued from Bosnia over a decade ago – by our incredible suppliers Extract Coffee Roasters.
Their mission? Make coffee better for growers, for the community and for the planet.
(And you, of course!)
Swing by our cafés to taste just how delicious it is for yourself and read on to find out more about the amazing work they do.
They only work with farmers they trust, work with national charities across the UK, and reduce their environmental impact throughout the whole process to make sure your morning coffee tastes great and makes an impact.
Extract Coffee have been roasting high-quality, sustainable speciality coffee for over 15 years.
How?
1. Working with farmers they trust
Determined to source their coffee better, they now only work with farmers they have built a long-term relationship (in Columbia, Peru, Guatemala and more). Which means there is much more control over the quality of your coffee and it helps improve farmers' long-term earnings - win, win.

2. Supporting national charities
They don't just support farmers, they support local communities by offering volunteering, mentorship and fundraising. So your morning coffee helps contribute to more job opportunities for those who need it.
That's A LOT of coffee 🤯
3. Considering the planet every step of the way
By:
- Up-cycling and restoring vintage roasters (like Bertha)
- Cutting transport miles and emissions
- Recycling coffee waste
- Recyclable packaging
- Using sustainable coffee growers
Extract Coffee Roasters is also now B Corp certified, meaning they meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability.
